The Canada Research Chair in the Security Governance of Bodies, Mobility, and Borders was officially launched in February 2024. To mark its creation and its award to Professor Anne-Marie D’Aoust, Professor Didier Fassin, professor at the Collège de France and Princeton University, gave the inaugural lecture on February 15, 2024: “The Condition of Exile: An Ethnography.”
Professor Fassin recently published Leçons de ténèbres: ce que la violence dit du monde (Lessons of Darkness: What Violence Says About the World) with La Découverte (2025). He is the author of twenty books translated into seven languages. He has edited twenty-seven collective volumes. He writes occasionally for The New York Times, The London Review of Books, The Guardian, Die Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Le Monde, and Libération.
